Graduating from the University of California at Berkeley with a degree in Studio Art. I spent many years as a graphic designer in film, print, television and the web before creating the Multimedia Art and Technology program at Cañada College across the Bay in Redwood City. I taught digital painting, photography, imaging, color management and photo restoration.
Growing up in California I spent much time traveling in a family car. Landscapes would fly by as fleeting moments or they were suspended forward in the distance. As a child I captured them in my head. Now I point my camera outside the window and paint the captured image as I saw it from the car.
My process is to paint using my tablet, stylus and monitor within Corel Painter, Adobe Photoshop or other digital paintbrush tool. Images can be printed on paper, canvas, metal or other surfaces using a digital printer. The images are originals using reference photographs I have taken, usually out the window of a car, plane or train.
