October 2, 2007: Rocky Knob Campground

Okay so we decided to check out Foamhenge (just outside Natural Bridge), yes it is an exact replica of the one in Britain only in styrofoam instead of stone. Same size and each "stone" looks just like the original. Then we went back to the KOA (Jellystone version), hooked up the trailer and headed back on the Blue Ridge for more overlooks, lunch at the Otter Peak's Lodge and stayed the night at Rocky Knob Campground

September 30, 2007: Natural Bridge, VA

We survive the night with no bears and rise before the sun to take some pictures from the trail. Then we are back on the Shenandoah Highway for more overlooks. We went to the Humpback Rocks Visitors Center where there was a day of music, plowing, tobacco dryinging, spinning and other displays of time gone by. Had lunch at an overlook and headed for the Blue Ridge parkway. Another beautiful road with a 45 mph speed limit. Found a Yogi Bear Jellystone trailer park to hook up, get some electricity, water and take a shower.

October 1, we slip off the parkway to find Natural Bridge. On the way I took some foggy pictures of the trailer park and the James River. Natural Bridge is very impressive.

September 29, 2007: Loft Mountain Campground, VA

Goodbye to Front Royal, VA and off to the Shenandoah Parkway. We discover alot of overlooks along the way and so it is slow going as it is difficult not to stop. It is so beautiful here on the parkway. Some leaves are starting to turn. We spend the night in a park campground. No hookups, no noise. We are right on the Appalacian Trail. In fact we trudge along a short distance of it and watch the sunset. There is some bear warnings and are a bit wary. Trixie the Buffalo Dog is no help as the only thing she barks at are other dogs.
